flymen-fishing-company-chockletts-polar-changer, Catch the attention of fish with the Polar Changer's irresistible action and impressionistic profile.Design by Blane ChocklettThe Polar Changer is a highly articulated, impressionistic baitfish streamer used to target many freshwater and saltwater gamefish species. The fly is tied predominantly with 'AuPolar Fiber'Au which is a sensitive, ultra-lightweight synthetic fiber that causes the fly to constantly 'Aubreathe'Au and undulate in the water. This 'Aumovement-without-movement'Au creates the impression of a live baitfish that is always moving, even between strips or when suspending in the water column.Upon entering the water, the synthetic Polar Fiber material absorbs water to quickly get the fly down into the strike zone with an enticing, natural swimming action, but immediately sheds the water with the first false cast making the fly surprisingly light and easy to cast. The Polar Changer has a length of 5" (12.5cm) and is offered as either a single-hook (front)A or double-hook version (front and rear). This 7-body-segment articulated fly is available in 6 different color variations giving you options for most fisheries and target species.Natural Swimming ActionThe innovative use of special materials realistically mimics the spine and muscle of a baitfish to give it a unique, enticing swimming action.Impressionistic Baitfish ProfileCatch the eye of the fish you're targeting with this enticing pattern.Versatile SizeThe Polar Changer's length of about 5" (12.5cm)A makesA it a great general purpose fly that can be used to target a wide variety of species in different fisheries.ColorsAvailable in 6 color variations, allowing youA to 'Aumatch the hatch'Au for success in most fisheries and target species.Lightweight, synthetic materialsTied with the ultra-lightweight, synthetic Polar Fiber material that sheds water and has incredible natural movement, while keepingA the fly light and easy to cast.DurableThe tying method and the high percentage of modern, synthetic materials used give you a tough, durable fly that should stand up to dozens of landed fish. Q:A Why are the flies sometimes not in stock?A: GC flies are in high demand and they tend to sell out very quickly. These are specialized, custom-tied flies that are technically difficult and time consuming to tie to the correct specifications. As a result, our factory sometimes cannot produce them fast enough and therefore are not always available.Q: How long will I wait for my flies if I have to Pre-Order?A: It may take several weeks (or a bit longer) for your order to be delivered. If the flies are not in stock, our system enables you to place a Pre-Order and we will ship to you the moment they become available. Essentially, your order is placed on a waiting list that is fulfilled on a first-in first out basis. We will keep you updated on a regular basis with an estimated delivery date (EDD). As our capacity increases, any lead times should be reduced to a minimum.A Q: How durable are the flies?A: Very! The precise method the flies are tied, and the high percentage of modern, synthetic materials used in them make for a tough, hardy fly that should stand up to dozens of landed fish.Q: Is it easy to cast?A: Upon entering the water, the synthetic polar fiber material absorbs water to quickly get the fly down into the strike zone with an enticing, natural swimming action, but immediately sheds the water with the first false cast making the fly surprisingly light and easy to cast with a 7-weight or higher fly rod.Q: When should I use a single or double hook version?A: It depends on the species and size of the fish you are targeting. Typically a single hook version is more than adequate to land the larger, more aggressive game fish that are not shy about eating a fly. The double hook version is useful for those fish species (usually freshwater) that are sometimes hesitant to totally commit to eating the fly and in these situations the smaller 2nd hook can help to increase your hookup rate.Q: Can they be used in saltwater?A: Yes! The flies can be used in both fresh and saltwater. The articulated shanks are made of stainless spring steel and the Kona hooks have a high-quality black-nickel finish. Q: How many articulated segments does the fly have?A: Single-hook version: 7 segments with the hook +6 Articulated Fish Spine shanks.Double-hook version: 7 segments: the front hook + 5 articulated fish spine shanks + back hook (double hook version).Q: What hooks does it use?A: The Polar Changer uses a Kona Big Game HunterA 4/0 hook in front and Kona Big Game Hunter #4 in the tail (forA the double-hook version). These are ultra-sharp, high quality, short shank hooks designed specifically for Game Changer style flies.
