Since 2.6-inch tires aren't as voluminous as plus-sized options, you'll notice it's still relatively lightweight and not as vague in steering feel and handling characteristics as its plus-sized brethren. It's a bit faster rolling than many tires in the "all-mountain" category, making it ideally suited for running in the rear with a slightly more aggressive tire up front.
The Trail Shield casing is impressively resilient against sidewall slashes and unexpected flats across technical trails, courtesy of its high-density reinforcement layer. Michelin's GumX3D compound strategically employs three different rubber compounds for the best of fast-rolling efficiency, tread longevity, and cornering grip. As expected, the center features the hardest rubber compound for less rolling resistance and greater tread life, transitioning to a slightly softer compound towards the shoulder knobs for excellent cornering control.
