Stockli Montero AX / Strive 13 System - One Color - 183cm, "The Montero AX paired with Strive 13 bindings are the perfect combination for your go-anywhere skis. New for winter 2023, Stockli replaced the perennial frontside all-mountain favorite, the Laser AX, with their all-new Montero AX. Fans of the Laser AX, don't worry-the Montero AX still promises the total versatility you love, which means carving like a Stockli on groomers and precisely moving through moguls or tracked-out trees. If anything, the Montero AX is even more versatile; a slightly wider 80 mm waist improves stability and performance in soft snow and variable conditions. The Montero AX is more similar than different to the Laser AX in shape and profile. Stockli added a small length of rocker in the tail to boost the Montero's soft snow performance and round out the upgrades for this all-mountain carving ski. For those who want a carving ski that holds up in a couple inches of fresh snow, can rail turns one lap, and rip moguls down the bowl the next, the Montero AX was made with you in mind. Flex Torsion Control improves turn initiation and edge control during transitions Solid Metal Edge Light allows more edge sharpening services and a longer lifetime for the ski without increasing weight Wider at the tip for longer edge contact length means enhanced grip in turns Winter 2023/24 model Equipped With Adaptive Contact Length (ACL) ACL is the combination of Stockli's Full Edge Contact (FEC) and Tip and Tail Rocker technologies. ACL provides a greater edge angle, which means more of the edge is in contact with the snow, for more grip and stability through the turn. The playful feel of the ski remains without needing to forgo stability. Full Edge Contact (FEC) The shortest distance between two points is a straight line; and a curved line is more distance. The concept applies to ski edges also-the wider the curve, the longer the ski edge. FEC construction features wider shovel dimensions (plus a wider tail on GS models) for a more pronounced sidecut producing longer edge contact length. That means faster initiation and enhanced grip through the full turn. Light Core (LC) Stockli's LC is built with woods that maintain an optimal balance of low-weight, durability, and responsiveness. LC cores also offer enhanced durability and lifespan. Solid Metal Edge Light The same edge thickness as Stockli's Solid Metal Edge (SME), but the edge is not as thickly built into the ski. The result is a lighter edge that is still more durable than traditional edges, helping prolong the lifespan of the ski. Tail Rocker (TR) Tail Rocker is a revised design of Stockli's ski tail bend-now offering a longer bend and flatter radius than previous iterations. The increased length of the tail rocker results in a more playful feel, while the flatter radius provides enhanced grip when edging. Flex Torsion Control (FTC) These are special S-shaped cut-outs in the tip and tail of the ski. The purpose is to soften flex and reduce torsion forces in the tip and tail. This allows torsion to remain adaptable and causes turn initiation and edge release to feel easier and smoother."""
