As for the casing, the Renegade is using the S-Works casing, which is not only Specialized's lightest casing but also its supplest casing, this combination results in a shockingly low rotational weight. The T5/T7 dual compound allows Specialized to use T5 compound center knobs to help keep rotational resistance down while T7 compound corner and shoulder knobs provide additional grip while cornering. This dual compound setup strikes the perfect speed and grip balance and paired with the tread pattern, Block-In-Block design, and S-Works casing makes the Renegade a top-tier cross-country racing tire.
