Many of us here at the shop have happily built up our own commuter and gravel bikes using mainly road parts with standard cross or road gearing. The Road Link is a simple device that offsets the position of your Shimano road derailleur to make it possible to run a wide-range mountain bike style cassette that also serves as the perfect solution for converting road, cross, gravel and commuter bikes to a single ring set up with minimal loss of gear range. Now imagine running a standard 10 or 11 speed road/cross double ring set up with an 11-36T or 11-40T cassette. It's safe to say you'll experience steep climbs in a way like never before. The Road Link mounts only to standard derailleur hangers. Double chainrings are only supported with medium cage rear derailleurs Triple chainrings are not supported (medium cage rear derailleurs cannot accommodate that big of a change) Direct Mount-native frames and SRAM or Campagnolo drivetrains are not supported.
