It takes cues from its big brother the RXF34 but makes important changes to optimize it for downcountry riding. Starting with weight savings, Ohlins were able to reduce the damper design from a dual to a single damper design, allowing for a massive 27% weight reduction over the previous version. The complete chassis and spring system paired with the new damper design add up to a nearly 600g weight savings over the original RXF34. Burly 34mm stanchions strike a great balance between weight savings and stiffness, ideal for a downcountry fork. Of course, this wouldn't be an Ohlins fork without a plethora of tuning and adjustment features. The OTX18 damper delivers 15 clicks of low-speed rebound and low-speed compression along with a dial for high-speed compression for plenty of tuning capability. With the third compression setting you'll be able to close off the low and high-speed compression for a firm climbing mode for when it's time to point your bike up the hill. Ohlins choice of a floating axle design ensures consistent braking and suspension performance.
