The new tread pattern is more balanced, includes sipping on the tread, has improved cornering knobs and raised edges for mud clearing. The large double-wide block on the old shorty has been split into two individual blocks for improved rolling resistance. The Shorty is available in both 3C Maxx Grip and 3C Maxx Terra rubber compounds, each with their own casing options that compliment them best. If you are more of a downhill and enduro type of rider than your going to want the Maxx Grip rubber compound, which is made to grip the dirt and also gives you the option of running either the Double Down and DH casings. The Maxx Terra compound is only available with the EXO casing and is best suited for traill and all-mountain riding for an excellent balance between low rolling-resistance and grip.
