Katadyn Vario Microfilter, Katadyn created the Vario to be the most intelligent water filter on the market. With a simple twist you can change the Vario from a fast flow filter to a long lasting filter depending on water conditions. You can use the glass fiber filter only for fast pumping in clear water, or force the water through a ceramic disk to remove the bigger particles before it reaches the glass fiber filter. The Vario also employs a carbon filter to remove odors and tastes.
