It took a couple months of sending prototypes from the Riding shop to his tying bench until they had a tool that met his stringent requirements. The center of the circular top is aligned with the pointed shaft for excellent material handling and is secured in place by a set screw, allowing you to adjust to your own preference. Heavy, but not too heavy, easy in the hand, but not so large it would become cumbersome after multiple hours, and long enough to pick dubbing easily while also spinning freely. The weight, feel, and length of the brass handle were tweaked by The Master dozens of times before he was convinced Rising had achieved a tying tool he'd use and endorse.
