MSR Thru-Hiker Tarp, The minimalist backpackers and ultralight enthusiasts around our offices appreciate the simple and lightweight design of the MSR Thru-Hiker Tarp. The Thru-Hiker comes in two sizes with the smaller 70 Wing option capable of sleeping two to three people and the larger 100 Wing option capable of comfortably sleeping three. The non-freestanding design means you need to either set the tarp up with trekking poles accessory poles (sold separately) or between trees but you'll still be snug as a bug in a rug. Even if the weather gets unpleasant the tarp is made from lightweight 20D ripstop nylon that has been treated with an Xtreme coating which repels water.
